Denso to build new manufacturing plant in Mexico

Denso Corporation, an automotive supplier of advanced technology, systems and components, has announced that Denso Mexico SA de CV (DNMX) will construct a new manufacturing facility in Silao, Guanajuato, Mexico.

The new 25,600 square metre plant will manufacture heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) units. The new facility will help Denso expand its business in Mexico and meet the growing needs of its North American customers who are ramping up their operations in the region.

Denso will invest a total $57 million in the new facility, and expects to employ more than 400 people by 2015. Construction work on the facility will commence in March 2011, and production is set to commence in October 2013.

Further, Denso will consider producing additional products at the site in the future. The facility will be the third plant for DNMX, which also has a facility in Guadalupe City, Nuevo Leon state.

DNMX currently manufactures a variety of automotive products at its two existing plants, including instrument clusters, climate control panels, and system control components such as variable cam timing and oil control valves.
