Construction has begun on a $6.7 million project for widening the southbound I-75 ramp to the Palmetto Expressway in Miami, Florida, US.

The project will be carried out in phases. The I-75 ramp will be widened from a single lane to two lanes as part of the project. Work will also lead to creation of an additional lane spanning from I-75 to the Northwest 103rd Street. Work will involve repaving of the exit signs in addition to installation of new signs.

Among other features of the project include improvements to the drainage system as well as minor alterations to the landscaping. Widening of the ramp is expected to ease traffic congestion in the Palmetto expressway. Construction work is due for full completion by March 2013.
