Mansell to build $8 million community hospital in UK

Mansell Construction Services Limited, a Balfour Beatty brand, has been appointed to design and construct a £5.2 million ($8 million) community hospital in Bicester, UK.

The new community hospital, which will be developed for Kajima Partnerships, will include a 12-bed facility with an ambulance base, first aid unit, out of hours and out-patient areas.

The healthcare facility will also have imaging and physiotherapy suites, offices and a community base. The construction work on the community hospital will commence in June 2013.

Mansell stated that the latest contract will add to its healthcare portfolio within the Thames Valley region and is the second project it has delivered for this customer, the first being Brentwood Community Hospital in Essex.

Jonathan Winter, Thames Valley Regional Director of Mansell, said: “It’s great to have been appointed to deliver Bicester’s new community hospital. Stakeholder engagement with members of the local community has been a key part of the project to date and will continue throughout the contract period through projects such as the outdoor gym, therapy garden and two public art commissions.”
