Future Ready Construction Equipment for Infrastructure Growth

The next generation of heavy machinery is being forged at the intersection of sustainability and high-performance computing. As nations embark on massive infrastructure renewals, the equipment leading the charge will be defined by its ability to integrate with digital twins, utilize alternative energy sources, and operate within a connected ecosystem that prioritizes long-term resilience and productivity.

Safety Innovation in Modern Construction Machinery Design

The pursuit of a zero-harm workplace is driving a technological revolution in the way heavy equipment is engineered and operated. By integrating advanced sensors and automated intervention systems, the industry is creating a protective shield around its most valuable assets the people on the ground and in the cab significantly reducing the inherent risks of complex building environments.

Compact Construction Equipment Meeting Urban Project Needs

The rapid expansion of city infrastructure requires a new generation of machinery designed for high-density environments. These specialized tools prioritize maneuverability and reduced environmental impact, allowing contractors to execute complex builds in tight spaces without compromising the efficiency or safety of the surrounding metropolitan area.

Takeuchi’s sixth model in its compact track loader (CTL) product line, the TL11R3, includes electric-over-hydraulic (EH) controls for greater precision in loader arm, bucket and travel speed operation, the company stated. Takeuchi TL11R3 compact track loader features advanced EH controls that led the operators to instantly switch between ISO and H patterns through the machine’s monitor to match their preferences.

The new model of Takeuchi TL11R3 compact track loader has a ground pressure of 4.71 (canopy) or 4.84 psi (cab) with a ground clearance of 12.4 in., enabling optimal flotation, traction and stability for navigating on challenging terrain. The undercarriage involves heavy-duty sealed rollers with metal face seals to keep dirt and debris out, while double-reduction planetary drives and 18-in. tracks deliver enhanced tractive effort.

The TL11R3 operates at 11,650 lb. (canopy model) operating weight, 2,735 lb. rated operating capacity (35% tipping load), and a bucket breakout force of 7,958 lb. Power is provided by a 3.8 L Kubota diesel engine rated 107.3 hp at 2,600 rpm, with maximum torque of 271.4 ft.-lb. at 1,500 rpm. It meets Tier 4 Final emissions standards with a DOC, DPF and SCR aftertreatment system.

According to Takeuchi, the radial-lift boom design on the TL11R3 is engineered to deliver enhanced breakout forces for greater lifting power with fewer moving parts. Rugged steel construction and a one-piece, purpose-built, fully welded frame offer more strength and rigidity while protecting the engine and hydraulics.

The CTL’s up-and-down self-leveling automatically maintains the bucket or attachment level while lifting or lowering the loader arm for better load handling. Fourteen-pin detent delivers constant power to electrically operated attachments for uninterrupted operation.

Both configurations have a 14-pin connector that help to maximise versatility and functionality across a series of attachments. Canopy models feature a mechanical universal quick attach and cab models feature a hydraulic universal quick attach. A 270-degree rearview camera comes standard on the high-flow configuration and is optional on the standard-flow configuration.

The CTL’s self-leveling up-and-down feature automatically keeps the bucket or attachment level while raising or lowering the loader arm for improved load handling. Fourteen-pin detent provides continuous power to electrically operated attachments for uninterrupted operation.

Operators can also modify the track loader’s boom, bucket and travel sensitivity of the track loader to suit their requirements for more control while working at high precision. In low-clearance environments, the arm height limit feature prevents the loader arm from increasing the predetermined height.

The compartment is six-way that can be adjustable for high-back suspension seat inside the operator. It also includes an 8-in. touchscreen display for real-time machine vitals and having visibility to the rearview camera as well as having access to the Bluetooth radio, HVAC controls and other machine functions.

Takeuchi’s Fleet Management (TFM) telematics system is available for the standard for five years.
