Komatsu Europe has confirmed the completion of the third wave of its electric mini excavator, marking the full rollout of the PC26E-6 to the European market. The announcement reinforces the manufacturer’s ongoing push to expand its electric construction equipment portfolio as part of a broader transition toward lower-emission machinery.

The latest addition represents a significant step within Komatsu’s electrification roadmap. The electric mini excavator range has been developed in direct response to increasing pressure across the construction sector for low- and zero-emission operations. In parallel, the company has focused on addressing traditional barriers to electric equipment adoption, including concerns around charging infrastructure and operational performance.

Komatsu’s electric mini excavator offering now consists of the PC20E, PC26E and PC33E-6. These machines are purpose-built for use in emissions-sensitive environments and are designed to deliver diesel-equivalent performance. At the same time, they operate without exhaust emissions and generate reduced noise and vibration, making them suitable for urban, indoor and environmentally sensitive applications.

Commenting on the launch, Emanuele Viel, Group Manager Product Marketing at Komatsu Europe, said: “As demand for electric compact machinery continues to rise, particularly in urban, indoor and environmentally sensitive environments, Komatsu is proud to unveil the third wave of its electric machines.

“Offering solutions that can be charged from a standard electricity supply without the need for heavy or complex infrastructure, the PC26E is designed for all environments, offering versatility rather than a niche solution.

“Crucially, the third wave of machines have been engineered to offer fast charging times, smooth performance and a high-grade specification to ensure it fits seamlessly into existing operations.”

Alongside the equipment launch, Komatsu is also strengthening its customer support offering. Buyers of the electric mini excavator range will benefit from extended “E-support,” which includes a five-year warranty covering new electric components. This initiative is intended to reinforce confidence among customers investing in electric machinery.

Looking ahead, Komatsu Europe continues to pursue its stated goal of achieving a 50 percent reduction in emissions by 2030. To support this objective, the company is maintaining a diversified product strategy that combines electric, hybrid and highly efficient diesel products across its equipment portfolio.
