Cara Group, a leading construction firm with offices in Manchester, Yorkshire, and Liverpool, is starting the year on a high note, celebrating a double nomination at the Hopwood Hall College Apprenticeship Awards 2025.
Recognised for their work with apprentices and future talent, the group is shortlisted for two prestigious awards. Caraโs first nomination is for Jack Ellam, an apprentice with Cara Construction, who is in the running for the โLevel 2 Apprenticeโ award. Jackโs nomination highlights his progress through the apprenticeship programme and the significant contribution heโs made to the team.
Last year, Cara Group launched Future Skills, a programme designed to provide apprentices with the tools, training, and real-world experience they need to succeed in the industry. Initiatives such as their partnership with Keyfix offer apprentices invaluable hands-on experience, preparing them for successful careers in construction.

Paddy Grady, Managing Director ofย Caraย Construction, said: โJackโs hard work and drive are clear to see, and itโs fantastic to see him shortlisted for this award. Apprenticeships are a vital part of what we do, and Jack is a great example of how much can be achieved when talent is supported and nurtured. I must praise the work of Neil,ย Caraย Brickwork MD, and Jayne, our Apprentice Liaison Manager, for raising the bar with the โFuture Skillsโ programme and ensuring the right training is given by the colleges to our apprenticesโ
The secondย nominationย goes toย Caraย Brickwork, shortlisted for the โSME of the Yearโ award. This category celebrates small and medium enterprises that actively support apprentices and champion opportunities for the next generation in construction.
Neil Allen, Managing Director ofย Caraย Brickwork, added: โTheseย awardsย highlight the brilliant work happening in our company and across the industry. Itโs a proud moment for everyone atย Caraย to see both Jack andย Caraย Brickwork recognised. Weโre looking forward to celebrating the evening and wish all the finalists the best of luck.โ

Theย Hopwoodย Hallย Apprenticeshipย Awardsย celebrate the success of apprentices, employers, and training providers across the region, and highlights the importance of apprenticeships in shaping careers and helping businesses grow.
This yearโs ceremony will take place on Thursday, January 30th, at the Mercure Norton Grange Hotel and Spa.
