Kuraray Co., Ltd. plans to establish a new PVA resin production facility at the company’s wholly owned subsidiary Kuraray America, Inc. located in Texas. The facility will be located at La Porte, Harris, Texas. With a production capacity of 40,000 tons/year in the first phase, the completion of facility construction is planned for September 2014. Land for the facility has already been purchased. The investment will receive contribution from Texas Enterprise Fund granted by the State of Texas. It will also receive Harris County Tax Abatement from the Harris County Commissioners Court.

The establishment follows the Kuraray Group’s global strategies for its core business of vinyl acetate and PVA-related products. The new development follows a business expansion in Japan, Singapore and Germany. The new facility will be Kuraray’s fourth production base in North America. The new facility will help in meeting the market demands in North America and and the growing markets of Central and South America. The parent company Kuraray Co. Ltd, is located in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo
