The LPA Group Incorporated (LPA), a unit of Michael Baker Corporation, has secured a contract worth $5.1 million from the South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) to develop construction plans for a highway project in the US state of South Carolina.

Pursuant to the contract, LPA is required to develop final construction plans for a new 5.7-mile section of Interstate 73 between I-95 and US Route 501 in Dillon County, South Carolina, near the town of Latta.

LPA will also provide final design for the roadway, including 10 bridges, and drainage, geotechnical, maintenance of traffic and traffic control, signage, pavement marking, erosion control and utility plans. The contract also includes other services such as final surveys, utility coordination, railroad coordination and construction support.

Michael Baker, which provides engineering, design, planning and construction services, focuses on business areas such as architecture, aviation, defence, environmental, geospatial, homeland security, municipal and civil, oil and gas, rail and transit, telecommunications and utilities, transportation, urban development and water.
