Sterling Construction wins $79 million highway project in California

Sterling Construction Company, Inc. has announced that its California affiliate, Myers & Sons Construction, LP, was apparent low bidder on a $78.7 million highway project for the California Department of Transportation in Turlock, California.

The scope of work in the project includes the replacement of approximately 120,000 cubic yards of rapid strength concrete and 180,000 tons of asphalt as well as 250,000 square yards of concrete grinding on State Highway 99.

Work on the project is expected to commence in March 2012, and is slated to be completed within 12 months.
