Minto to design new senior community in Daytona Beach

Minto Communities has started planning and designing a new development project on 1,600 acres of Daytona Beach in the US.

The Daytona West planned community is the seventh the company has launched in the Florida market in last past two years.

Located at I-95 and LPGA Boulevard, land for the project is being acquired from Consolidated-Tomoka Land and the new community is targeted at adults aged 55 years and over.

Minto Communities Florida president Michael Belmont said: “It’s a growing, thriving area and people are attracted to it as a place to live, as well as a vacation destination.”

The proposed community will boast more than 3,000 single-family homes and coupled villa residences, which would also feature abundant green space, parks, walking and biking trails and lakes.

The new golf cart-friendly lifestyle community will offer social amenities such as a resort-style town centre with clubhouse, restaurant, recreational and fitness facilities.

Inhabitants will be able to opt into membership privileges at the nearby LPGA International, which has two signature golf courses, one designed by Rees Jones and the other by Arthur Hills.

Minto Communities Florida senior vice-president William Bullock said: “Minto’s newest community will provide a social, active lifestyle with world-class resort-style amenities plus all the attractions of Daytona Beach.

“Buyers will enjoy the exceptional value, energy-efficiency and craftsmanship of a new Minto home.”

Work under the contract is set to commence mid 2015 with initial sales of new houses to begin by mid-2016.
