Systemates, Inc., pioneers of web-based construction management software, today announced the celebration of the 11-year anniversary of Projectmates. Since 2000, Projectmates has served capital project owners and other construction professionals through cutting-edge technology that continues to innovate to meet today’s industry challenges. “Projectmates has been at the forefront of cloud-based technology long before anybody was talking about clouds! In 2000, we had to convince people that the internet could be used for construction. This was when people were afraid to put anything online, most certainly not financials. Today that’s taken for granted,” says Hemant Bhave, AIA, Vice President and founding partner at Systemates.
Since the beginning, a core Projectmates functionality has been accessibility via the Internet to all project team members. Although Projectmates’ web-based platform enabled this type of accessibility from the start, over the years Systemates has seen demand for this broaden from access at the office on a PC to access at the job site. To meet that demand, today Projectmates is supported on multiple platforms, including the iPad and Smartphones, and multiple browsers, including Internet Explorer, Chrome, and Safari.
Systemates was founded in Texas in 1995 to provide collaborative construction management websites. The company first developed project management websites for the airline industry to manage more than 200 offshore projects. In 1997 the company released ArchManage, one of the very first automated web-based construction project management systems and the predecessor to Projectmates. ArchManage was well received by the design and construction industry and used for many high profile projects, including projects for former telecommunications company MCI.
Based on this experience and client feedback, new generation enterprise software was developed from the ground up. The first version of this software was released in 2000 under the new brand name: Projectmates. Ever since the first release of Projectmates, the user base has been growing rapidly thanks, in part, to the support and valuable feedback from customers. Today, Projectmates version 11.2 has over 25,000 users worldwide.
