US-based Fluor Corporation has won a engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract from Arlington Valley Solar Energy II (AVSE II), a unit of LS Power Group, for its 152MW solar photovoltaic (PV) facility located in Maricopa County, Arizona, US.

Sprawling over 1,160 acres, the AVSE II project will use either concentrating solar power (CSP) or photovoltaic (PV) technology depending upon the market. AVSE II has already entered into a power sale agreement for the sale of its output.

The engineering and procurement services for the project will be provided by Fluor’s Southern California operations centre. The facility is anticipated to begin full commercial operations by the end of 2013. The company has closed financing for the project.

In addition to AVSE II project, Fluor has also secured contract for AVSE II’s ongoing operations and maintenance services for its new nominal 125MW solar PV facility located in Maricopa County.
