Baldwin Filters plans new distribution centre in Nebraska

Baldwin Filters Incorporated, a US-based manufacturer of filtration products for automotive and heavy-duty, has announced plans to open a new distribution centre in Kearney, Nebraska.

The proposed distribution centre will be located to the east of the company’s Kearney facility and will have a total footplate of 400,000 square feet. Baldwin Filters plans to break ground on the new distribution centre in the first quarter of 2013.

The new centre will enable the company to improve its distribution operations, consolidate off-site rental space and reorganize the current facility to improve manufacturing operations. The company anticipates entailing an expenditure of $40 million to build the new distribution facility.

The project has been approved by Baldwin Filters parent company CLARCOR Incorporated and its board of directors. Upon completion of construction, the company’s corporate headquarters will encompass nearly one million square feet.

Baldwin Filters manufactures filtration products for automotive and heavy-duty, off-highway, and truck and bus applications. The company has manufacturing and distribution centres in the US, Mexico, the UK, Belgium, China, Morocco, Australia, and South Africa.
