A subsidiary of French construction giant Bouygues has won a €108m contract to develop and build the Chapelle International project, a sustainable neighbourhood in the northwest of Paris.
The property division of national rail company SNEF gave the contract to Bouygues’ Linkcity Ile-de-France after an international competition.
Work includes a 45,000 sq m development that will include the 20,000 sq m itWORKS! office building and the 14,000 sq m it’sWELL! office block, which have been adapted to include “nomadic working methods” and retail space.
Bouygues will also build a residential unit containing 314 premises across 17 floors, including properties designed for families and students.
Located on a former railway in the 18th arrondissement, the 7ha site, will set “the highest standards in terms of user well-being, urban integration and sustainable development”, according to Bouygues, and will meet Paris’ Climate Plan.
The development will be close to the University of Paris Pantheon-Sorbonne’s Condorcet campus, and Arena 2, a sports venue.

Works on the project has begun, and it is due to be completed in the first quarter of 2020.
