A joint venture between CapitaLand (one of the largest real estate companies in Asia), CapitaLand Commercial Trust and Mitsubishi Estate Co. Ltd. awarded a design-build contract to Dragages Singapore, Bouygues Construction’s subsidiary in Singapore, in July 2017 for a new integrated development.

Reaching a height of 280 metres, the complex will be one of the tallest buildings in the city’s central business district.

The architectural concept of the Golden Shoe Car Park redevelopment is the work of the Copenhagen-based architects Bjarke Ingels Group, in conjunction with the design office Carlo Ratti Associati, based in Turin.

The 51-storey iconic building will provide a total surface area of 93,351 m², which will feature 29 floors of premium Grade A office space, a 299-unit serviced residences to be operated by The Ascott Limited, restaurants, retail outlets and five levels of car parking. Nicolas Borit, CEO of Bouygues Bâtiment International, said: “We treasure the long-term and trusting relationship we have enjoyed with CapitaLand for more than 15 years and it’s been our great honour to work with them once again on this landmark integrated development. With a proven track record of successfully delivering some of the world’s most complex building projects, Dragages Singapore is well positioned to deliver this iconic development in the highest quality.”

The most distinctive feature of the new tower will be the “green oasis” which will be wrapped around the core of the building on four levels, incorporating a botanical promenade and an outside terrace. The works began in August 2017, with completion expected in 2021. More than one thousand people will be working on site at peak periods The award of this new contract illustrates the vitality of Bouygues Construction in the Asia-Pacific region, where the Group has been established for many years. It recently delivered the iconic City of Dreams –Morpheus in Macau, designed by Zaha Hadid, and it is currently carrying out a number of residential projects in Singapore.
