NCC AB is in advanced discussions over a NCC industry unit sale, with a consortium that includes CRH Plc and Heidelberg Materials AG, according to people familiar with the matter. Bouygues SA’s Colas unit is also part of the potential buyer group, with the transaction said to carry a valuation exceeding $800 million.
Sources said NCC and the consortium are finalising deal terms, with an announcement expected in the coming weeks. The parties declined to comment as discussions remain ongoing.
The proposed NCC industry unit sale forms part of NCC AB’s efforts to streamline operations and sharpen its focus on core construction activities. Divesting the industry business would allow the Nordic contractor to optimise its portfolio while improving efficiency and profitability.
From the perspective of CRH Plc or Heidelberg Materials AG, the divestment would allow them to consolidate their status as a global player in the building materials industry. Each may see an opportunity to increase their footprint in certain markets, expand product portfolio and realize synergies in their operations. Adding Bouygues SA’s Colas into the mix further emphasizes the attractiveness of NCC’s industry business.
The deal would be the final step in NCC AB’s strategic pivot, positioning the company for a refocused pursuit of long-term growth initiatives.
