Wates Construction Limited will begin construction work on the £40 million ($61.7 million) project to transform the E-ACT sponsored Crest Boys’ Academy and Crest Girls’ Academy in Neasden, London. The project will deliver separate girls’ and boys’ academies with joint sixth form in four pavilion buildings in an attractive park setting, and a flexible classrooms and learning spaces with state of the art ICT equipment.
The scheme also include a range of educational and sports’ resources such as a library, theatre and drama studios, as well as extensive outdoor facilities for use by the academies and community, an improved and safer access routes in and out of the academies site, and capacity to expand student numbers by 300 over the next five years.
Phase I includes building the new vehicle entrance at Dollis Hill Lane, the new car park, the three-storey temporary classrooms and setting up the building site for the main construction.Construction work on the project will commence on 17 December 2011, and is set to be completed by December 2014.
