As part of its continued commitment to growing the Canadian economy, Lafarge Canada Inc. has announced the acquisition of the assets of Mixcor Aggregates Inc. based in Alberta. Twenty-six sites and 50 employees will join the Lafarge team, paving the way for green construction solutions.

“Lafarge continues to be committed to investing and growing in Alberta and contributing to our province’s economic recovery efforts. We look forward to welcoming these new employees to our team,” said Brad Kohl, President and CEO of Lafarge Western Canada. “We know they are aligned with our health and safety culture and that they share our vision to accelerate green construction.”

“We are pleased that our assets will continue to meet Alberta’s infrastructure needs. Having a partner like Lafarge ensures the continued success of these sites,” said Terry Mix, President of Mixcor.

The acquisition is an example of Lafarge working with key leaders in the Government of Alberta on shared priorities such as sustainable growth, green building and the success of its communities to build a stronger Alberta.

Service Alberta Minister, Nate Glubish, responded to the completion of the acquisition by saying, “The Government of Alberta is committed to creating and diversifying in Alberta now. Every job is important as we strive to protect Albertans from the financial effects of the pandemic and as Lafarge’s work in our province ensures job security for more Albertans.”

Lafarge is one of Alberta’s largest sustainable building materials companies with more than 2000 employees who are building better communities across the province. The company is committed to providing a safe and healthy workplace for its employees while protecting the environment and collaborating in the supply of innovative and high-quality building materials.
