The conference was divided into 28 sessions over 3 tracks – joint strategic track and 2 dedicated tracks for Russia Power and HydroVision Russia and attracted 599 delegates. The program offered a wide range of activities such as round tables, panel discussions, workshops in order to make another step for promoting modernization, efficiency and innovation in Russia. The live panel discussion within the joint plenary session highlighted the first day of the event. Maria Stroeva, RBC TV channel, moderated a panel of experts including Alexander Chuvaev, General Director, JSC Fortum, Alexander Shwab, Senior Vice President, Andritz Hydro, Leonid Chernigov, General Director, NPF Rakurs LLC, Alexander Shwab, Senior Vice President, Andritz Hydro and Hando Sutter, Regional Manager, Nord Pool Spot. Opinion leaders discussed possible ways of developing the Russian power market in the post reform period.

Alexander Chuvaev of JSC Fortum, commented, “Reform of the power industry was based on 3 pillars: the first one is the wholesale market liberalization, and the government has kept its word – the market began to work, became more or less transparent. The second and the basic pillar is the capacity supply agreement which has been kept until today. The third basic pillar is securing equal profitability on gas for all the market players. It means, that the profit based on a gas price was supposed to grow as it did in Europe. It doesn’t mean that the price itself should be the same as in Europe: considering a securing of the equal profitability, the gas price would still remain at least two times lower.”

For the first time Russia Power and HydroVision Russia quests had an opportunity to study at the unique learning session, the Executive Program which was developed together with HEC Paris, School of Management and MAKO Its aim was to to show what skills power business leaders should have to meet today’s global energy market challenges.

On the final day of the show, conference delegates had a unique opportunity to speak to representatives of the whole value chain: generators, suppliers and consumers. The strategic session hosted by Irina Esipova, General Director, Center of TEK Communications Development, gathered a wide panel of experts who shared their views on cooperation within the industry taking into consideration, the interests of all parties.

Russia Power under new name POWER-GEN RUSSIA and HydroVision Russia will return to Moscow on 3-5 March 2015 bringing together industry leaders to exchange innovation ideas and approaches to power industry development.
