A Bachy Soletanche joint venture is one of the winners of a series of civils contracts awarded by Singapore’s Land Transport Authority (LTA).

The contracts for the construction of Tanjong Rhu, Katong Park and Marine Terrace stations along Thomson-East Coast Line (TEL) have a total value of about S$948m (£464m).

The construction of Tanjong Rhu station and its associated tunnels has been awarded to Bachy Soletanche Singapore – Wai Fong Construction Joint Venture at a contract sum of approximately S$294m.

Shanghai Tunnel Engineering (Singapore) has won the construction of Katong Park station and its associated tunnels in a deal worth S$293m.

The construction of Marine Terrace and its tunnels has gone to a joint venture of Ssangyong Engineering & Construction and Hyundai Engineering & Construction at a contract sum of S$361m.

The three stations will also serve as civil defence shelters along the 13km east coast stretch of TEL.

Construction works for the civil contracts are expected to start this quarter for completion in 2023, when four other stations are also due to be ready. The remaining two stations will be completed in 2024.
