UK-based Willmott Dixon Construction Limited has secured a £22 million ($34.1 million) contract from Anchor Trust, a UK-based provider of housing, care and support for older people, to develop Bishopstoke Park, a retirement development in Hampshire, UK.

Under the terms of the contract, Willmott Dixon will transform Bishopstoke Park, which was originally farmland that was converted into a house and grounds in 1870 before being transformed into a small hospital in the 20th Century, into a modern retirement village.

Willmott Dixon, working with architects Urban Edge, will deliver 170 properties and a 48-unit care home that will allow residents to live an independent lifestyle while also benefiting from professional care and support when needed on site. The work on the project will be completed in mid-2014.

Willmott Dixon will also create a new village centre complex for residents, providing them with quick and convenient access to a state-of-the-art Wellness Centre, swimming pool, hair and beauty salon, village bistro and delicatessen.

Willmott Dixon provides contracting work services for non-residential projects. The company offers services for construction in sectors such as education; leisure and culture; hotels; offices; health; retail; national frameworks for government and local authorities; and law and order facilities such as prisons and police stations.
