Engineering and environmental consultancy Wardell Armstrong has acquired the business and assets of RJ Witt Associates, a civil and structural engineering consultancy firm based in Croydon.

RJWA founder Rob Witt

The acquisition of RJ Witt Associates (RJWA) increases Wardell Armstrong’s network of UK offices to 12. The move is part of Wardell Armstrong’s programme to develop more work in and around London.

RJWA will now be called Wardell Armstrong (RJWA) Ltd. RJWA founder Rob Witt will become a regional director for Wardell Armstrong, continuing to operate from the Croydon office.

RJWA was established in 1984 and has worked on more than 2,500 projects across new build and refurbishment, car parks, commercial, retail, health and fitness, listed buildings, hotels, education and residential. RJWA’s most recent instruction is on a £20m residential development in Croydon.

“RJWA is well known in the Croydon and London area and beyond for its innovative, safe, elegant and cost-effective designs,” said Keith Mitchell, Wardell Armstrong’s UK managing director. “The practice has a strong client base, excellent skill sets and trusted relationships with architects and clients. We’ve known and worked with Rob Witt and his team for a number of years, so we’re delighted to have this opportunity to build further with them on such solid foundations.”

Rob Witt said “This is an ideal opportunity for RJWA to invest in technology and to combine with Wardell Armstrong in order to increase the offer we can make to our existing clients and to expand our portfolio of clients and projects moving into the future. It also gives us the opportunity to combine resource in a way that will be beneficial to our clients.”
