The Vice Prime Minister for Reconstruction and Minister of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine, Oleksiy Kuleba, has inked an order thereby approving the construction products codifier, which is a single digital reference book that goes on to standardize the names as well as the characteristics of materials, reports Komersant Ukrainian.
As per the Ministry of Development, every material gets a unique code and, along with it, a detailed description. This enables the automation of the calculations, enhances the precision of estimates, and decreases the number of technical errors within construction. From here on, manufacturers, customers, contractors, and government agencies are going to be able to make use of the same names as well as codes across all stages – right from production as well as design to tenders and also progress reports.
Apparently, the code is part of the reform so as to streamline the cost of construction within the martial law and offers gradual updating of data by way of the Unified State Electronic System within the Field of Construction – USESC.
The minister went on to stress that the dearth of a unified classification had in the past complicated the work of the sector, as the very same material could get specified in many ways, which therefore limited the capacity to automate the price analysis as well as data comparison.
It is well to be noted that for customers, the construction products codifier makes the analysis of estimates simpler and also minimizes the risk in terms of overestimation. When it comes to designers as well as contractors, it helps automate documentation preparation, contract prices, and also certificates of completion. For manufacturers, it helps to create transparent conditions so as to declare products on the market and also equal conditions when it comes to competition.
Notably, the Ministry of Development of Ukraine went on to remind that as of January 1, 2026, the old DSTUs are going to lose their validity and apparently are going to get replaced by the European standards DSTU-EN, which have already been considered in the codifier. The fact is that the basic principle is – products having identical parameters are going to get one distinct code, which should make sure of uniformity as well as transparency across all the levels of construction.
