Housing contractor Keepmoat has secured contracts worth more than £5.8m in the northeast, including a £4.8m contract with South Tyneside Homes.

Work will start on the South Tyneside Homes development in June 2015 and will include various refurbishment projects for tenants. Keepmoat has been selected through a procurement process via the HCA DPP 2 to deliver internal modernisations, external wall insulation, re-roofing works and necessary structural works to 139 houses. The project is expected to be completed in June 2016.

Keepmoat has also secured a £1m contract with Cestria Community Housing Association to re-roof 174 properties in Chester-le-Street. Work here is set to begin in July, with a finishing date set for November 2015.

Regional managing director David Ward said: “These substantial contract wins for Keepmoat in the northeast continue to show the extent to which we are delivering new projects in the region. With ongoing investment by local authorities and housing associations in the region, Keepmoat will continue to deliver high quality regeneration projects for its partners.”
