The Society of British & International Design (SBID) has opened an office in Ukraine.

British ambassador Judith Gough hosted an event to launch SBID Ukraine. She said: “Creative economy plays a very important role in the UK economy as a whole. This sector brings more than £71bn a year to the British economy and provides jobs for 1.6 million people.” Gough added that she hoped that SBID will make a huge contribution to the partnership between the two countries.

SBID is the professional accrediting organisation for the interior design industry in the UK and represents interior designers, architects, specifiers, manufacturers, developers and construction professionals.

The new office is intended to facilitate the accreditation of Ukrainian design professionals and create the appropriate medium to attract investment in the field of construction, production and interior design.
