NexCore places final steel structure for UHS medical facility in New York

US-based healthcare real estate firm NexCore Group has set the final steel structure in place for the construction of an outpatient medical facility for United Health Services (UHS) in Vestal, New York.

The new 85,000 square feet facility will be situated along the retail corridor of Vestal Parkway across from Binghamton University. NexCore, has been offering project management and development services on the project valued around $30 million for UHS, a not for profit company.

The 916-bed hospital and the health care system will serve people at the Greater Binghamton region. UHS offers its full range of health care services such as long term care, rehabilitation, surgical, and medical from over 40 places all over the Southern Tier of New York.

The three-storey health care facility is anticipated to become functional from the third quarter of 2012 and will be the first comprehensive one-step-shop facility in Vestal to offer multi-speciality ambulant care facility.

The facility will have pharmacy services, laboratory, rheumatology, women care centre and X-ray and other imaging services. The other amenities of the building include a canopy covered drop-off facility to reach the car parking, a main lobby, fire place and a cafe.

UHS is planning to occupy the facility fully to commence physician practices on opening of the building. It will utilize the new building to combine several of its present primary care practices.
