Juhl Wind, a community based wind power development and management company, has commenced construction on the wind power system, GL Wind in Minnesota, US.The project, estimated to cost $10 million, is a partnership between Gundersen Lutheran Hospital and a local investment partner.  The GL Wind system will use two Clipper Wind power C96 wind turbines with a capacity of 2.5 MW each. The turbines will be operated at a combined capacity of 4.95MW in order to meet distributed generation requirements recognized by Midwest Independent System Operator. Upon completion, the GL Wind system is expected to generate approximately 14 million clean energy kWhs per year.

Juhl will be coordinating contractor activities, turbine supply and commissioning during the construction phase and will be the developer and construction manager for the community wind farm.Juhl Wind vice president Corey Juhl reportedly stated the project will be the seventh wind system to be constructed by Juhl in the past two years.
