Skanska invests EUR 65 M, about SEK 680 M in the third office building of Nowy Rynek, a mixed-use project, in Poznan, Poland.

The investment considers the third building as well as underground parking levels for both the third and the fourth building. The construction contract is worth PLN 142 M, about SEK 340 M, which will be included in the order bookings for Europe in the second quarter 2019.

The 14-storey office building will have a total leasable area of about 27,000 square meters. It is registered to pursue WELL Certification, and is expected to receive the certificates LEED Gold and Building without Barriers for its accessible design, inclusive for people with disabilities.

Construction works started in the end of April. The office building is scheduled for completion during the second quarter 2021.

Nowy Rynek is Skanska’s third commercial development in Poznan, with a total usable space of approximately 100,000 square meters. The complex is located in the central business district, creating a new quarter in the city of Poznan. Skanska sold the first building of Nowy Rynek to Franklin Templeton Investments. The second building is almost fully leased.

Skanska is one of the leading development and construction companies in Europe. Outside the Nordics, the company has European operations in building construction and civil engineering in Poland, Czech Republic & Slovakia and UK. Skanska develops commercial properties in select home markets in Poland, Czech Republic, Romania and Hungary, while the residential development is active in Prague and Warsaw. In 2018, Skanska had sales of SEK 36 billion and about 14,200 employees in its European operations.
