VolkerHighways continues to maintain Camden’s streets with a value of £12 million per year, the contract covers highways and lighting maintenance services across the borough until 2020.

VolkerHighways has been maintaining the majority of the streets in Camden since 2009. This new contract takes over from previous contracts that split the highways service north and south with a third contract for street lighting maintenance.

VolkerHighways will be working collaboratively with the borough’s Supporting Communities Directorate to inspect and maintain the roads, street lights and pavements, undertake improvement schemes and emergency repairs. The works also involve service delivery for Housing, Parks and Open Spaces and the Parking Service.

Alistair Thompson, managing director of VolkerHighways said: “We are delighted to be given the opportunity to further develop our relationship with the London Borough of Camden to deliver high quality maintenance across the public realm. We will also continue to support the local communities within the borough where so many of our staff and workforce live.”
