Specialist civil engineering company Freyssinet has opened a new factory in Telford.

The new facility on a 1.8 acre site will enable Freyssinet to increase production of bridge components, with the benefit of additional space for the research and development of new products.

Managing director Paul Bottomley said: “With the continued growth and improvement in the UK’s manufacturing and construction industries, we are delighted to be opening a new factory, which will enable the company to expand on its manufacture, storage and laboratory testing. The new facility features one of the largest test press in the country and state of the art equipment.”

Freyssinet has been at the forefront of bridge bearing design, manufacture and installation since 1950. As part of the Soletanche Freyssinet group, its products and services include repair, strengthening and protection of structures in the building, civil and marine sectors.
