Tool hire group Speedy has named accountant Chris Morgan as its interim finance director with immediate effect. He starts immediately.

Chris Morgan had been chief financial officer at retail group Go Outdoors since 2012. He was previously CFO at Focus DIY between 2011 and 2012, and before that he worked foir Tesco, as group controller from 1999 to 2004, and more recently as finance director, Czech Republic and Slovakia.

He succeeds Russell Down, who joined Speedy from Hyder Consulting as group finance director in April 2015 but was promoted to chief executive in July 2015 on the departure of Mark Rogerson.

Russell Down said: “We are delighted that Chris is joining us as interim finance director. He brings a wealth of finance experience and I am looking forward to working with him.”
