A survey of civil engineers’ salaries indicates that they earn an average of £45,300 once fully qualified.

A graduate civil engineer can expect to earn £24,487 a year on average

The research was conducted by Maple Resourcing, using salaries published by Indeed.com, Totaljobs.com and its own placement figures.

It found some surprising regional differences. Graduate engineers earn more in Scotland, for example, than they do in southeast England. Scotland is also the second-highest paying region for experienced civil engineers.

Unsurprisingly, experienced civil engineers earn more in the southeast that in any other region – 34% more than in Wales and 28% more than in the Midlands.
