BAM has signed a contract for the doubling of the rail track between Utrecht Central Station and Utrecht Leidsche Rijn.

The €47.8m (£34m) contract with the Dutch rail infrastructure manager ProRail is the final part of the VleuGel/Randstadspoor project.

BAM will start the construction work in the middle of next year and the track will be available for passenger trains at the end of 2018.
