Fire protection specialist Blue Diamond is unveiling a range of new eco-friendly products in response to industry trends.

Blue Diamond was set up as a specialist fire protection subcontractor for all industrial and passive professional work and has 20 years’ experience in the field.

It specialises in fire proofing, fire stopping, structural fire protection and sprayed insulation.

Lee Andrews, business and engineering director, said: “We are unveiling new products and new brands from the UK – they are eco-friendly systems. We have gone very ‘eco’ to appeal to new trends.”

One of these new brands is Eco-sol, which can be used to protect wood, fabrics, and even live trees. Andrews explained that the product has been used in the Ramadan tents at Atlantis, as well as Wild Wadi, Dubai.

Blue Diamond has also become the official agents of Nullifire.

“It’s a passive system of fire protection and it’s a brand that is recognised all over the world,” added Andrews.

He reveals that the company is also working for Emaar, as main contractor after Al-Futtaim Carillion and on around 20 projects across the region.

Commenting on the company’s current situation in the Middle East, he said: “It’s been a good year. There’s been a big interest. We had good feedback from last year’s show, which was our first.

“We recently celebrated 100 projects in five years and also our first year in Qatar. We are also looking at suppliers and fire stop contractors in Oman and Saudi.

“In the last year we attracted new manufacturers, and suppliers have come knocking at the door. We want to expand further into other regions. We aim to be recognised. Regions such as North Africa, India remain untapped at the moment.”

He continued: “Fire protection has to be installed by law. If you are backed by legislation you will do very well.”

Andrews believes that the company’s contractor status sets it apart from competitors. “We want to conquer the market. We are the only fire stop contractor at the show that is doing passive protection.

“We are a UK-based company and the quality we offer sees us through. We get lots of repeat business – for instance we have ten projects with Carillion.”
