Jobsite Safety Innovations Reducing Risk in Concrete and Structural Work

Jobsite safety innovations represent a systematic approach to hazard elimination through equipment design, monitoring systems, and process improvements specifically targeting construction work’s most dangerous activities. From wearable technology detecting falls and environmental hazards to prevention-through-design methodologies embedding safety features into infrastructure, modern safety strategies work synergistically to protect workers from risks inherent in heavy machinery operation, material handling, and high-altitude construction. This comprehensive examination explores how innovative equipment, intelligent monitoring systems, and collaborative safety practices combine to create construction environments where worker protection and operational efficiency reinforce rather than contradict each other.

Jeffrey A. Raday, P.E., President of McShane Construction Company, is pleased to announce the completion of Apex 41, a 181-unit luxury apartment development of GlenStar Properties LLC.

Located on a three-acre site at 2760 South Highland Avenue in Lombard, Illinois, the upscale property is situated across the street from the popular Yorktown Shopping Center mall. This prestigious location offers direct access to numerous shops, restaurants and businesses together with optimal convenience to I-88 and downtown Chicago.

Apex 41 was constructed in a podium format with a five-story metal-framed residential component atop a two-story, 242-vehicle precast concrete parking deck. The complex incorporates a mix of studio, one- and two-bedroom units complete with granite and quartz countertops, stainless steel appliances and in-unit washers and dryers. Each apartment also includes a spacious aluminum balcony for private outdoor space.

Residents enjoy a wide selection of amenities within a 3,000 square foot community clubhouse that features a lounge with full kitchen, fitness center, yoga and fitness on-demand studio, business center and a luxurious resort-style swimming pool located directly outside. Additional outdoor space is offered within a 16,000 square foot park-like raised plaza with lush landscaping, gourmet grill stations, fire pits, a putting green and various seating areas.

“The I-88 corridor is home to a number of Fortune 500 companies and continues to attract large businesses making the area an increasingly desirable place to live,” remarked Raday. “Apex 41 provides a much needed rental option to the area’s expanding young workforce who desire the amenities and locational benefits offered by this superior development.”

Stephen Rankin Associates provided the architectural services for Apex 41. Greystar is serving as the exclusive management and leasing team. For more information and leasing inquiries, visit www.liveapex41.com.
