Ramboll has joined forces with Web Structures a leading building design and engineering consultancy that has pioneered integrated design in South East Asia. With the acquisition, Ramboll strengthens its position in South East Asia, adding 120 experts to Ramboll’s 4,500 building designers from the 1 January 2020.

Integrated design and sustainability
Web Structures is a pioneer of “fusion engineering”; fusing design sensitivity with cost efficiency to develop engineering solutions where the traditional separation between architectural design aesthetics and structures is erased. “Web Structures are leaders in digital design and the use of parametric tools which will strengthen Ramboll’s ability to innovate. Joining forces with Web Structures fits perfectly with Henning Larsen Architects who recently became part of Ramboll. We want to strengthen our dialogue with clients in the early stages of projects, raising the sustainability agenda to the forefront,” says Richard Beard.
High-rise expertise
With main offices in Singapore and Malaysia, Web Structures offers specialist design services for high-rise buildings like the award-winning Ardmore Residence in Singapore where the structure is parametrically integrated with the architectural form. High-rise buildings are one of Ramboll’s strategic service areas, and the acquisition supports Ramboll’s global High-rise division’s capability to deliver advanced solutions internationally and in the Nordic markets.

Web Structures has delivered some of the most iconic projects in Singapore and Malaysia, such as the Mediacorp Campus in Singapore, the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, as well as the Four Seasons Resort in the Seychelles.
