UK-based construction company Denne, part of the Leadbitter Group, has completed phase I of a new affordable housing project in Kent on behalf of Ashford Borough Council. The project, which has created a total of 27 homes across four different sites, is the first affordable housing project built directly for and owned by a local authority in Kent for two decades.

The 23 houses and four flats, located on the former sites of unused garage blocks were constructed to Code for Sustainable Homes Level 3 using a timber frame system, provide Ashford with much-needed affordable housing.

The completion of housing scheme continues the relationship between Denne and Ashford Borough Council, which has already resulted in the successful refurbishment of 325 homes to the Decent Homes standard.

Denne managing director Graham Brown was reported stating that the new houses will go a long way to help with the regeneration of Ashford and provide local families with good quality, affordable homes.
