Accenture has launched a new global business, Accenture Construct, which unites thousands of specialists to provide integrated capital project services focused on infrastructure, engineering, and technology. The new entity is designed to help project owners plan, deliver, and optimize large-scale programs including power grids, airports, rail networks, and advanced manufacturing facilities. The launch targets significant growth sectors such as the AI data center boom, energy transition, and long-term infrastructure replacement. According to company reports, the total addressable market for owner-side capital project services is currently valued at $260 billion and is projected to reach $348 billion by 2030, growing at an annual rate of 7.5%.
The formation of Accenture Construct follows a period of rapid expansion, with Accentureโs capital projects businesses growing fourfold over the last three years supported by cumulative investments of $2.5 billion. The new business aims to resolve the growing complexity of large projects that traditional, siloed delivery models often fail to manage. By utilizing a common project data foundation, the business intends to create a single operational view across the entire delivery ecosystem, addressing the dispersed accountability often found in traditional models where owners absorb costs between disparate contractors and consultants.
Strategic Integration and Global Scale
Accenture Construct integrates capabilities developed through both organic growth and a strategic series of acquisitions, including specialist firms such as Anser Advisory, BOSLAN, and Soben. The business comprises more than 5,000 practitioners with hands-on delivery experience across the Americas, EMEA, and APAC regions. Adam J. Shaw, the newly appointed CEO of Accenture Construct, emphasized that the business serves as a single accountable partner for project owners. By combining delivery expertise with AI and data, the firm aims to reduce uncertainty and help owners make better-informed decisions regarding their capital project services.
Julie Sweet, chair and CEO of Accenture, noted that global demand for critical infrastructure programs is accelerating as AI changes the planning and operational landscape. “Together, these shifts are significantly increasing our market opportunity for the capital project services provided by Accenture Construct, which combines deep capital project expertise with global scale, built to give owners a new level of visibility and certainty,” Sweet stated. The initiative is positioned to provide a new level of operational transparency for complex, high-value infrastructure programs worldwide.
