FM service contracts in the UAE are expected to value $5.4bn (AED 20bn) per annum by 2015 according to G4S

Growing momentum within the nation’s construction sector has been credited by FM companies as driving growth for the industry.

Jamal Lootah, CEO of Imdaad, said: “The current boom in the GCC’s construction sector has created lucrative opportunities for the regional and international FM companies. The UAE market is driven towards integrated FM solutions where companies offer informative, transparent and ultra-modern services to its clients.”

Figures produced by the Dubai Statistics Centre in the first half of 2014, the UAE’s construction sector made up 7.89% of the nation’s gross domestic product. Additionally, according to the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the sector is expected to further contribute between 11 to 11.5% to the GDP from 2015 to 2021.

The growth of UAE’s construction sector and its impact on FM will also be an important topic of the upcoming FM EXPO 2015. The exhibition, which is set to run from the 18 to 20 of May, 2015, at the Dubai World Trade Centre, will host more than 150 regional and international exhibitors. Over 7,500 visitors are predicted to attend the three-day event.

Jaafar Shubber, senior project manager, FM EXPO, shared: “The growth in the UAE’s construction sector has created fresh opportunities in the regional FM industry. The customer has become more aware and is demanding integrated, sophisticated FM contracts which not only ensure enhanced services but also result in improved cost efficiencies.”

The FM EXPO 2015 will host the annual World FM Congress and will be held opposite the Middle East Waste & Recycling and Commercial Cleaning and Hygiene.
