Vietnam has commenced construction work on the ring road from Noi Bai International Airport to Nhat Tan Bridge in in Dong Anh district, Hanoi.The project is estimated to cost about $239.4m, and will be funded by the Japanese official development assistance (ODA) loan and the Vietnamese government’s counter-part capital.  The project is divided into five contract packages, where the $24.2 million first package includes building more than 1.5km road, two 300m-long viaducts and will be carried out in 30 months. The project has secured $83 million from the (JICA) for the first phase of the project in March 201..

Upon completion, the entire12.1km long connecting road is expected to shorten travel time and ease traffic flow from central Hanoi to the airport, and help cut travel distance from Hanoi’s Ba Dinh square to Noi Bai airport to 15km from 30km. The project is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2014.
