UK-based house builder Persimmon has received an outline planning approval from Liskeard Town Council for 450-unit housing development in Cornwall, England in the UK.The entire planning permission is anticipated to be granted shortly, following completion of the Section 106 agreement for the site on the northern edge of the town.

The scheme involves a mixture of two-, three- and four-bedroom houses with a proportion allocated as affordable for first-time buyers. The housing units also include a community centre or village hall plus, playing fields. The proposed development is located to the north-west of Liskeard town centre and will provide a range of family homes together with a local centre and public open space.

Persimmon Homes South West’s managing director Simon Perks was reported stating that the project site, which will include an element of affordable housing to help local people remain close to their roots, will also bring about much needed opportunities to the area such as job creation and benefits to the wider community via Section 106 contributions.
