Salem Planning Commission has approved Mountain West Investment Corporation’s plans for Pringle Square, a mixed-use apartment complex in Salem, Oregon.

Sprawling on a 13 acre site that formerly housed the Boise Cascade, the $21 million Pringle Square will feature 107-residential apartments and 20,000 square feet of retail space.

Pringle Square will feature an open courtyard overlooking Pringle Creek and Willamette River. The scheme has been designed by CB|Two Architects.

As reported by the Statesman Journal, the plan includes construction of residential units ranging from 648 square feet to 1,329 square feet featuring two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a den.

The work is slated to begin in March 2010, with the demolition of Boise Cascade, and accomplishment of the seismic work, which will be done in about 60 days. The construction is likely to be completed in a time-frame of 9 to 12 months.
