Spanish firms Vibia and Arkoslight have bagged the Design Plus awards 2012 at Light+Building 2012 held in Germany.

Vibia has received the award for its Skan lamp whereas Arkoslight have secured the award for its Lex Blue light fitting. Skan has designed by Barcelona-based design studio Lievore Altherr Molina. The light is characterised by a minimalistic style with clean-lined, sleek contours. It makes use of energy-efficient LED technology which helps it generate a powerful yet soothing light effect. The luminaire offers options of various shades which include matt, lacquered red, white or graphite grey. The design of the light makes it ideal to be used in a host of interiors such as a leisure venue or a residential unit.   Lex Blue is a recessed LED light fitting. It is formed of polycarbonate and aluminium and comprises an indirect perimetric lighting system. This helps in lighting up the reflector and disseminating soft blue light effect.
