Reliant Hospital Partners and JaRyCo Development have begun construction on a 60-bed rehabilitation hospital near St David’s South Austin Medical Center in Austin in the US state of Texas.
The 65,000 square feet rehabilitation hospital is the second rehabilitation facility in Austin since April. The previous rehab hospital, Triangle of 59,000 square feet located on 45th Street between North Lamar Boulevard and West Guadalupe Street was opened by the Seton Healthcare Family and a national company.
The facility at first will employ 75 people, expanding to about 150 workers when it reaches full capacity. The opening is planned for the second quarter of 2012. Dallas-based Perkins + Will is the architect for the project and the Austin office of Rogers O’Brien Construction is the general contractor.
Once operational, the rehab facility will expand from 20 to 50 beds. The Round Rock hospital, Reliant Rehabilitation Hospital in Central Texas, at 1400 Hesters Crossing Road, opened in 2008 is amongst seven Reliant facilities in Texas and Ohio.
