McCarthy & Stone is preparing to start work on a multi-million pound development in Nottingham.

The Wilford Lane development on the banks of the River Trent

Developer Charterpoint Senior Living has secured detailed planning permission for a 58-apartment assisted living scheme close to Trent Bridge in the Nottingham suburb of West Bridgford.

The development will be built by McCarthy & Stone on the former site of the Becket School in Wilford Lane.

The four-storey scheme will have 32 one-bedroom and 26 two-bedroom retirement apartments for the over 70s and communal facilities such as a restaurant and lounge.

Charterpoint applied for planning permission for the Wilford Lane scheme in joint venture with Your Life Management Services Ltd, which is a partnership between McCarthy & Stone and Somerset Care Group Ltd.
