Lendlease’s Engineering business has been selected by the South Australian Government as the preferred contractor to design and construct the Northern Connector road project.

The project involves the construction of a new six lane 15.5 kilometre road linking the Northern Expressway with the South Road Superway and Port River Expressway.

Craig Laslett, Managing Director of Lendlease’s Engineering business said the company was looking forward to contributing its project experience to delivering one of South Australia’s largest infrastructure projects.

“We are pleased to have been named successful tenderer for this world class transport infrastructure project, which will support economic growth, stimulate new urban renewal opportunities and generate local employment.

“The selection of Lendlease as preferred contractor recognises our major project experience, civil engineering capability and our strong commitment to safety, training and employment.”

The full project scope includes:

  • 15.5 kilometre motorway connecting the Northern Expressway and Port
  • Wakefield Road to the Port River Expressway and South Road Superway  four road interchanges
  • three lanes in each direction
  • 16 kilometre path for cyclists and pedestrians.
