The plans, which have been approved by Cardiff City Council, will bring together the School of Computer Science and Informatics and the School of Mathematics into a single 10,000 sq m facility.

A six-storey building has been designed by the South Wales studio of national practice Stride Treglown with renowned design studio, Adjaye Associates.

The site on Senghennydd Road, currently used as a University car park, is on the Cathays campus next to the Cardiff Business Technology Centre and Studentsโ€™ Union.

Arcadis is acting as project manager for the project with Arup providing both structural and building services design.

The project forms part of the Universityโ€™s biggest campus upgrade for a generation, including an investment of ยฃ260m in its teaching, learning and student experience.
