House-builder Landrose Developments Ltd has been fined for repeated height safety breaches. A routine inspection of a Landrose site in Willesden by the Health & Safety Executive in February 2013 found that there were no adequate means to prevent persons, materials or objects falling and causing injury. Enforcement action was taken.

Landrose was building 10 houses and 10 flats at the site when the HSE inspectors turned up.

A follow-up visit in August 2013 found that there had been little or no improvement and earlier warnings ignored.

At Westminster Magistrates’ Court this week Landrose Developments Ltd of North Circular Road, London, pleaded guilty to safety failings. It was fined £16,000 with costs of £2,221 after pleading guilty to breaching Regulations 6(3) and 10(1) of the Work at Height Regulations 2005. There was also a victim surcharge applied.
