Bridgestone Corporation, a Japan-based rubber conglomerate, has announced its Chinese subsidiary Bridgestone (Shenyang) Tire Co., Ltd. (Shenyang Plant) plans to build a new $299.7 million manufacturing facility in China.

The company plans to relocate its Shenyang Plant, located in Shenyang City in the Liaoning Province to a new manufacturing facility in Shenyang Chemical Industry Park. The new unit will be developed on an approximately 395,000 square metres site.

The new facility will have a production capacity of 5,000 tyres per day and will manufacture truck and bus tyres. The plant is scheduled to begin operating at its new site in 2014.

The company has acquired the site for the plant in 2012 and has procured necessary permits for construction and production. The estimated value of the project includes the cost of the construction of the plant and production equipment.
