Liverpool City Council has approved plans for a £60m overhaul of New Mersey Shopping Park in Speke.

 

The project includes the construction of a new Cineworld cinema complex and six restaurants, as well as refurbished shop frontages and public and an improved car park layout.

The scheme is expected to generate 390 construction jobs.

Mayor of Liverpool Joe Anderson has described the investment as “a sign of growing confidence in Liverpool as a good place to build new retail and leisure facilities”.
